OUR STORY
Kupega o Moana (formerly NET Trust) is a Pasifika-led organisation based in Te Awakairangi Hutt Valley, Wellington, dedicated to supporting and nurturing whānau across generations focusing on the early years. We do this through education, clinical support and being culturally competent.

Our Story
We were formally known as the Pacific Section, and the Pakeha Section alongside the Māori Section of the Nākū Enei Tamariki Incorporated Society, that was established in 1993 in Te Awakairangi (Hutt).
Nearly thirty years later, our new entity, NET, was officially established on 1 July 2022. This marked a period of growth as we began shaping our own identity and took the opportunity to refocus and refine our vision and mission—responding to the evolving social and economic needs of our community, and most importantly, building a better future for our tamaiti.
As part of this journey, in 2025, NET was renamed Kupega o Moana to reflect our strengthened commitment to delivering services grounded in Pasifika frameworks and models.
Our approach is grounded in Indigenous frameworks, which shape our holistic strategy for tautua/service and engagement. This Pasifika lens ensures that our work remains true to our cultural heritage while effectively addressing the needs of whānau, aiga/magafoa/famili, and tamariki/tamaikiiki/tamaiti.
The programs we provide are designed to complement one another, offering seamless support to our communities. We also work collaboratively with external services to ensure our magafoa receives the right support, at the right time, in a culturally appropriate way.
At Kupega o Moana, we honour the wisdom of our people and ancestors as we continue to weave resilience, healing, and hope into the lives of those we serve.
