Kia Orana from Roots

Roots is our men’s support service, providing a culturally safe and respectful space where tāne talanoa, enjoy different activities and encourage each-other.

Our approach is whanau-led, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, ensuring support is tailored to each man’s heritage, background, and worldview.

Our offering

  • Talanoa & Group Gatherings – Safe, open conversations

  • Sports & Activities – Building connections through fun and fitness

  • Breakfast Meets & Barber Talanoa Mornings – Relaxed spaces to talk and grow

  • Guidance & Support – Empowering tane to embrace positive change

  • Tailored courses to talanoa specific topics of interest

We focus on strengths-based approaches, helping men externalise their behaviour and recognise that they are not defined by their actions. Using Māori and Pacific frameworks, we guide tane on their journey of positive change.

Through talanoa, group gatherings, and activities like sports, breakfast meets, barber and talanoa mornings, we build a community where men can share and grow.

We offer a safe space for men to reflect, share, and grow, guided by whanau-centric, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
