What is Fale Mafana?

Fale Mafana is our home visiting program designed to support families with high needs, our team helping children thrive through better health, learning, relationships, and safety.

 

We’re here to help families build a positive, strong future for their children.

 

 

How Fale Mafana helps

  • For children: Grow strong, stay healthy, learn, and build positive relationships.

  • For parents & caregivers: Feel more confident in caring for their child.

  • For families/whānau: Create a brighter, more positive future for their tamaiti.

What we offer

Our Fale Mafāna whanau workers provide friendly, consistent support, including:

  • Weekly visits: We start with weekly visits to get to know your family and build a trusting relationship.

  • Safety & Health support: Helping you keep your pepe and tamaikiiki safe and healthy.

  • Parenting resources: Sharing helpful information about your child’s needs as they grow, through our parenting education sessions.

  • Goal setting & planning: Working with you to achieve your goals, make positive changes, and find practical solutions.

  • Community connections: Guiding you to helpful resources and services in your area.

 

Where We Work:

Fale Mafana is available in Lower Hutt

and Upper Hutt.

 

Anyone can refer—referrals are accepted from before birth up until a baby is one year old.
